ALICIA KEYS ANNOUNCES FIFTH ALBUM “GIRL ON FIRE”

Alicia Keys has set the date for the release of her new album Girl On Fire, and it’s coming to a generic listening device into your ear tubes this November.

Alongside this announcement, Keys has put together a short video about the process behind this new record and the journey behind it saying,

“I have arrived at a place in myself that I am comfortable being exactly who I am in this moment, and sharing it with no reservations.”

Keys collaborated with acclaimed and emerging talents, including longtime song writing partner, Krucial, Grammy Award-winner Babyface, renowned writer and vocalist Jeff Bhasaker, critically-acclaimed artist Gary Clarke Jr., up and comers, Pop and Oak, as well as emerging talent from the U.K., Emeli Sandé and Jamie XX, among others.

The album features an inspirational mix of the rich sounds Keys discovered while recording and traveling the world, particularly time she spent in London and Jamaica, layered within her New York City roots.

If you’ve already heard “New Day,” from a sneak-peek released June this year, then you’ll know that Girl On Fire has a hint of departure from the soulful R&B you’re used to from the Grammy-award winning musician.  However, Keys’ distinction has always been her voice and lyricism, and none of that appears to be missing!

Girl On Fire can be pre-ordered from 4 September with Sony Music offering a bonus download of the first single from the album, also titled “Girl On Fire” with each pre-order.  While you’re marking that date in your calendar, have a listen to “New Day” below:
