Sony Music have announced the debut EP release of Smoke & Jackal, the collaboration between Kings of Leon’s Jared Followill and Nick Brown of Mona.

The aptly titled EP1 will be available from October 16, and is comprised of six tracks, including first single “No Tell.”

Followill and Brown got together earlier in 2012 and combined their two distinctive sounds in Brown’s Nashville home studio.  In just over a week, the six tracks of EP1 were written, recorded, and ready for the public.

“Coming together just worked,” says Followill of his and Brown’s relationship. “I think it’s because we took such an easy approach to it, we didn’t bring any egos to it. We just talked about each other’s ideas, neither one of us got our feelings hurt. It just worked.”

EP1 is slated for a digital as well as a physical release in stores.  In the meantime, check out “No Tell” on Soundcloud below.  It’s already been touted by Zane Lowe of BBC Radio 1 as “the hottest record in the world,” so have a listen and tell us if you agree!
