James Acaster has become a NZ International Comedy Festival favourite over the last three years so it’s pleasing to see him back again at The Classic selling out his latest show – the world premiere of Reset.

We’ve all dreamed of starting again, rewinding and fixing our mistakes, making right what once went wrong (Quantum Leap style). James is just like us, he wants this too and lucky for him he might just get this chance due to a botched honey selling scam.

A total master of the stage, and of his craft, Acaster whisked us along on his whimsical journey through his dreams of travel and yearning to start a new life. The audience were powerless over his comedic charms and had to just simply relax, laugh along and enjoy. There are big, little and huge laughs during his show and there are plenty of them, I was truly entertained for every second. Acaster throws out so much material at his audience from Kiwi-isms to self-deprecating banter to full on self-hatred fueled rants. There’s no doubt that Acaster was always talented but he’s really grown into a confident and dominant force in modern stand-up.

This show is already a 5-star event and will no doubt gather rave reviews in Edinburgh in August, but for now we’ve got Acaster all to ourselves so don’t miss your chance to see this thriving comic. His 11 show run at The Classic is almost sold out, so due to popular demand an extra show has been added on Friday, 6 May at Rangatira at Q Theatre and tickets are on sale now.
